Each film coated tablet contains:
Cilostazol Tablets IP 50 mg
Cilostazol belongs to quinolinone class. it is also used as anti-platelet agent
It reduces contractions induced by the calcium.
It inhibits the aggregation of platelets both primary and secondary.
Indications
- It reduces the pain of legs that occurs while walking
- As antiplatelet agent
Mechanism of Action
Cilostazol inhibits the enzyme phosphodiesterase-3 and therefore decreases its activity and prevents the accumulation of cAMP in platelets and blood vessels or decreases its degradation.
It prevents the sticking of blood cells together and prevent it from harmful clots.
Pharmacokinetics
Absorption-
It is absorbed orally and fat meal increases its absorption
Protein Binding-
It is 98% bound to plasma proteins
Metabolism-
It is metabolized by liver
Excretion-
It is excreted via urine

- Abnormal stools
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in angina
- Contraindicated in chronic heart failure
